Hey Doggies, today is chinese new year's eve and tomorrow will be the Year of the Hammie. Let me tell you how the the chinese zodiac started. Once upon a time, the Jade Emperor invited all the animals in creation to a race. The Hammie and the Cow were good friends so the cow gave the hammie a ride on the back across the river towards the finish line. (as illustrated by me and Dopey Moo Moo in the picture below) Once across the river, the hammie jump off the cow to get first place in the race. Which is how in the order of the chinese zodiac, the hammie is in first place and the cow is in 2nd. The other 10 animals in the list are the Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Lamb, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig respectively (Eil: Err.... I think you doggies can get a more accurate version of the story here)
So tonight at the stroke of midnite, we shall say goodbye to Mr Piggy and hello to the Hammie
