Tissues

I love it when the family gives me tissue paper. Mama would usually give me new ones when she change the bedding in my cage.

They are good and easy to shred and they are soft to lay one and I can use them to cover my nose during this Hazy period.

I even bring them down to the tree trunk with me if I'm gonna sleep there.

Ah... so comfy.

Chicken Rice

Mama was giving me some rice for dinner when Eil thought it was funny to include a "chicken drumstick" for me.

But I wasn't tricked at all. After some sniffing, I know that it's not a REAL drumstick. It's a paper cutout of a picture.

But silly Bibi thinks that it's a treat and stands up for it. Heee. He got punked.

Fufu the hamster-terror

My friend Max (M-the-V) has been coaching friends how to break the necks of their toys. Which I thought was a fun thing to do to my monkey toy since the monkey hasn't been good and have been up to monkey business with me. And besides, I need to show my power as a hamster-terrier.

Come here monkey

I tried to imagine that monkey is Mr Rain (hee, dont let Eil knows. She probably wont be too happy to know if I try to chew him)
By the way, Eil decided not to go to his concert coz $888 is too.... costly and $188 is a waste of money to be sitting right at the back of the stadium of 7000 people. She'll wait and get the concert DVD instead (what a cheapskate, hee). Never mind Eil, I'll help you take revenge...

Then before you know it, the tail came out. Haa.. I happily grab the tail to keep it as my victory prize.

What's left of Mr Rain *opps* I mean monkey is the head. Haaa. Eil tried to take photos of the monkey's ripped out limbs and stuffings but felt that it was too gruesome to be shown.
Hey Max, how did you think I fare? Am I doing this right? Hee :)

Yeah gifts for me

Over the weekend, Eil meet up with J and Huskee's maid and I got gifts from the 2 jiejies.
So nice of them. They must have thought that I've been a good hamster and reward me. ;)
I got a bottle of the pet's water from J and food (I love food) from Huskee's maid.

I'm being made to pose with the gifts.

I can't wait any longer and wanna taste the treats..

But No... Eil said I have to be good and pose for the pictures first. *sigh*

But I think I moved too much and the treat fell on me. That's mama's hand rescuing me.
Thank You J jiejie and Huskee's maid for the yummys. :)

Sh...

My good doggie friend Jay advise me to stay clear of Eil. She's been pretty grumpy since the 888 incident. So I'm hiding.

Shh... if anyone ask. You didn't see me ok... :)

Rain is coming...

Well not exactly the watery type of rain from the sky, but Rain the korean Pop star is having his world tour and he's coming to Singapore.

Even though I'm a Hallyu hamster but it's really Eil that's the one crazy over Rain. She was very happy when she first heard of his tour to Singapore and was pretty sure of going to his concert. That is until she checked out the price of his tickets... :(
Normal asia stars who had their concert here, usually the most expensive tickets were like S$168 (Abt USD$100).

Eil found out that his concert at CAESARS PALACE is USD$288 for the most expensive tickets. Which is really pricey but still reasonable coz it's in Las Vegas.

Then Eil's friend messaged her about the price of the Singapore tour's ticket. She nearly fell off her butt, at first she couldn't believe it. After she checked out the fan club web site and the local news report, her heart sank...
You guys ready, the price are *drum roll*
$188, $288, $388, $488, $688 and $888
I wonder why they are obsess with the number 8 but S$888!. That's USD$555! You can buy a whole truckload of hamster food or whole generations of hamsters with that kind of money.

Eil's pretty depressed now. I dont think she'll even go to the concert now (No point paying $188 so see a small dot on the stage).

I think I better behave myself these few days and be a good hammie and try to cheer her up. :)

Hazy days

It's so hazy since last week, the air smells bad and it's really warm over here.

The people all hope that the wind direction would change and blow the haze away. Or that it rains and wash away the dirty air. Meanwhile, I'm gonna hide in my house and tree trunk until it gets better...

Fufu learns to read

Hi everyone, one of Eil's favourite past time is to read books. So one night while she was reading, I asked her to gimme a look at the book to see what's so interesting.

There were words and pictures in the book. But I dont really understand the reading business and after a while, I decided to try if the book is tasty.

It was then that Eil decided no more reading for me as she was afraid that I'll spoil her book. Hello... Who? Me? Spoil your book *Gives innocent look*

Oh good news to report. Some of my doggie friends have noticed a bald patch on my back. I'm losing hair there, I'm not sure why but Eil did some reading up and post the question on National Hamster Council (recommend by Javi, Nana and Luna's dad. They are both very cute hamsters)
And it seems that it's normal for a mature hamster to be losing hair (I'll be 2 coming Feb).

But the family have been trying to help by changing my diet and change my bedding and cleaning up my house regularly. Eil even spotted little baby hair growing out and now I have tuffs of hair at my back already. I hope my hair will grow out nicely so that people wont laugh at me and say "Ugly hammie"

Will you guys still be my friends even when I lose my hair?

About mooncake and Bibi

To my doggie friends who were wondering what in the world is a mooncake...
It is a confection that is traditionally eaten during the Mid-Autumn Festival. It has a thick pasty filling and may contain yolks from salted duck eggs. Mooncakes are typically rich, heavy, and dense compared with most Western cakes and pastries. In fact the filling can be so sweet that we joked that it'll make our teeth rot. For more details and picture of a mooncake, see the link here.

Remember the piggy shaped mooncake? I found a picture of Bibi that looks more like the piggy. Check this out...

Haa.. Doesn't he look more like a pig. Opps, I better not make too much fun of him coz he's giving me the "look". Bye now... :)

Monkey Rescue

My little monkey toy got into a 'situation' over the weekend.
He climbed too high and couldn't get down.
So I (being a very good owner and friend) have to go rescue him.

Hang on there little buddy... I'm coming to get ya.

Hold on...

I'm here, are you ok. After that, I gave him a long talk about how good little monkey should not be climbing too high and getting into trouble. I think he looked pretty happy to see me, dont you think. :)

New KDrama...

To my fellow KDrama friends in Singapore.
The wait is over, Channel U is showing Princess Hours tonite.

I've watched it on vcd already but I'm gonna watch it on tv again.
This series is recommended by Fufu the 哈韩 hamster.
The front part of the series is really funny. Heee..
It gets 4 paws up (out of 5)

Here's a sneak preview of it from a clip I got from youtube.

Happy Mid-Autum Festival

Hello everyone!
Today is the Mid-Autumn Festival. It's the day where the moon is the fullest and brightest. The humans will eat mooncake and maybe take brightly lit lanterns at night.
The family have bought mooncakes and of course me and Bibi are NOT suppose to have them. But mama sometimes look at my pitiful face and sneak little bits for me to try. (Sh... Just dont tell Eil about it ok).

They also got this piglet looking biscuit, which is actually like the baked skin of a mooncake.

It look pretty cute and I was actually thinking of inviting the piggie to my house when Eil and mama comment that the piggie look like me!!...

(Fufu = Piggie)

That is so rude... Do I look like a piggie to you??!! So I'm staying away from the pig, I dont want to be associated with it. :P

Fufu got new toy

Eil found a toy the other day and since it's pretty small (hamster friendly size) she decided to let me have it.

Hello, you look cute...

Come, let's go play...

At the end of the day, my new toy even slept on my log while i sleep inside.
What name should I give my new toy???...

Weird cleaning

My neighbour Bibi has a weird way, or rather a weird position to clean himself.

He lies on his back to clean his legs and hands

Doesn't he look like he's having a big chicken drumstick...

Could it be coz he's too chubby that he has to clean himself lying down. I think he's real lazy. Hee...

My gifts from Jay

Remember Jay's birthday party, where he prepared a special goodie bag for me but blur queen Eil forgot to take it home for me.
She finally remembers to get it when she met up with J jie jie over the weekend.

Woh, that's alot of food.. Yeah!

Wonder what's in this bag, let me open it...

Oh... it's doggie biscuit... yummy...

Eil say I must share with Bibi, so I gave him half the biscuit. :)

Me with the other half. I better keep this to snack on later. Heee

Thank you Jay! ;)

Responsible Pet Ownership

Yesterday, Eil went to the "Responsible Pet Ownership" roadshow organized by AVA with J jiejie. There were many booths there to provide information on responsibilities and caring of pets.
After filling up a survey, the humans each get a goodie bag.

Cute paper bag, look there's a cute cartoon hamster and a dog.

There were books on how to take care of pets and postcards that teach humans the resposibilities of having a pet.
After reading the book, I'm please to say that the family have met and passed all the criteria to owning hamsters.

Pet abandonment is an irresponsible behaviour of humans who no longer find their pet cute or find them difficult to handle. So those who are thinking of getting a pet must think very carefully before they get that pet. Remember, a pet is for life.

There is also a cool water bottle in the goodie bag for humans. J jiejie, thanks for trading the purple bottle with Eil coz that's her favorite color. Eil also made some donations at the booth there for some doggie shelter. We hope that it'll make a difference in some of the doggies life.
Everybody, love your pets ok. :)

Training the owner

Many of my doggie friends have advise me not to perform my tricks freely and to demand for treats. So I decide to train my owners instead. hee

What no treats, no way am I giving you my paw...

Ok, that's much better. yummy...

Ok, here.. shake paws...

Yeah.. keep the treats coming in. :)
