Discrimination of breeds

Hello every dog & kitty, I'm feeling quite upset today.

Have you read the post that Goofy wrote?
I have also read that particular dblogger's comment that criticize a doggie for disgracing his breed and suggesting that the doggie could be a cross breed for it's "bad behaviour"

The doggie's "crime"?
Peeing and marking a relative house he was visiting.

What I found disturbing about that comment is how that dblogger stereotyped that bad behaviour equals cross breed. What's wrong with cross breed may I ask? I find that very insulting to many of my doggie friends who are cross breed and have done nothing wrong to deserved that. They did not get to pick what type of breed they want to be born as and even if they did, why should they be inferior just because they are not pure breed.

We have cross breed friends over here at DWB who are pawsome in their behaviour and have won titles in dog shows.
And does pure breed comes with a warranty that ensures that they are all angels?

And disgrace?? The only one being disgraced here should be the doggie's owner and he/she totally deserved it as I believe the behaviour of the dog really results from the owner and has nothing to do with the dog.

There is no bad dog, only bad owners

I know that hoomans sometimes discriminate against each other but to discriminate a dog for it's breed? That is really uncalled for and I hope that dblogger would think carefully before posting such irresponsible comments in the future

So to that tactless dblogger who made that sweeping comment that discriminate.
Boo to you and and you can talk to my bum bum the next time you make such comments

To all my doggie friends, I love you all no matter what breed you are.

Well said, Girl Girl! It's bad enough humans are discriminated based on their race, now dogs too?

Hey GG, that's so true about pure breed and mix breed. Dogs are dogs and as long they dogs are healthy and not carrier of any illness. Mommy found out that I had heart enlargement and is genetic, mommy never think twice to breed me.

GirlGirl,
We love you too - you are just so very sweet!
My mom has such a big old sweet spot in her heart for her spaniel/hound mix she had before I was around. Mixed breeds rock!

I am hurt... I am a crossbreed (Maltese X Shih Tzu.. and my mom suspects I've got some kangroo/ rabbit blood in me..)... That does not mean I am any less loved than a purebreed dog right? And that does not make me behave badly right? RIGHT??!
I have got a bad taste in my mouth...

VEry well said Girl Girl!
We read Goofy's post, and totally agree with Goofy! Whether pure breed or mixed breed, each and every one of us are unique and with our own different set of characteristics! It all really depends on the owner, dont you think? Sometimes, a dog can misbehave beacuse of the owner itself, or maybe due to negligence on the owner's part. So, we should not blame it on the dog! Like you said, we lovee all our doggy friends, whether cross breed or pure breed, as long as you love treats, love to play, and love life, we love you too! Dont worry, GG, we think of you as a tiny cute little terrier! So, let us not dwell on this matter as only fools would discriminate mixed breed dogs!
Slobs, hugs and kisses,
BrandytheGreat and Gang.
(a big one, you can be sure)

Well said, Girl Girl!
My humans adopted Pupi and me from Cocker Spaniel rescue groups, and even they take in cocker-mix dogs! They also have some mixed dogs that aren't cocker spaniel at all! And why? Because they just plain old love dogs. And we think that mixed breed dogs can be some of the most interesting and beautiful dogs around.
Those meanies can speak to my bum as well.

Bravo and we second your boo.

We have two dog brothers. One of them is a pure blood Labrador. The other is a chow/golden mix that was rescued off the street.

Th rescue dog is better behaved than the lab brother. Also, the rescue dog only took a week to housebreak, the Labrador took 3 months.

Well said girl girl! Niether Reilly nor I are a "pure breed", and hte lady gets tired of explaining we're mutts so she started making breeds up. It's kind of funny to see people look confused cause they have never heard of a Schnorkie, or a Pedango, or her favorite a terrmutt. (short for terrier mutt!)

WOW, Girl Girl... I so completely totally 100+++++++++% agree with you! I think it is really wrong to generalize like that. The truth is, there are tons of WONDERFUL mixed breed dogs. There are tons of wonderful pure breed dogs. There are a tons of dogs period, and they ALL need loving homes with families who will love them unconditionally - and try to find humane, informed, educated solutions for the 'less than perfect' behaviors they may have - just like children.

Shame on that person!

And kudos to you for calling them out this way and for telling them to talk to your [however cute] tushy!

XOXO,
Ronak

I agree with you. When I meet a doggie I don't ask to see its papers-- specially if they pee on them. I just smell them and try to get along.

You are so right! Cross breeds are probably the healthiest doggies (and smartest) around!

Peanut said...

GG you are so right. Peanut is a pure breed and the biggest pain in the rear you ever did meet. And Flash is a cross breed and such a good dog. They have both had the same amount of training by the same person.

Sweet Hammie Girl Girl!

I LOVE the way you stand up for your friends! You are the BEST hammie friend a pup could have (cross breed or not). By the way, most vets believe cross-bred dogs are smarter than pure breds.

Are you telling Boo in that photo to kiss your a$$? You are one saucey little hammie, GG!

Goober love & smooches,
